Original knobs on barometers were made of bone or ivory. Many times the knobs were lost and replacements were hard to find. Plastic knobs have been available in the past but they were just not as right as the bone originals. These bone knobs are reproduced by hand to duplicate original index knobs found on wheel and some stick barometers. The knobs are mounted on brass arbors which were made using an original as a guide. The knobs can also be "aged" as shown on knob #3. The last knob on the page is a blank which can be cut to a special pattern.
In addition to the knobs bone ferrules which pressed into the hole surrounding the knob arbor are available.
